Lasti Kurnia (Harian Kompas)

Working as a photojournalist in Kompas Daily, since 2003.

As a photojournalist on the go, Lasti works in various kinds of subject from portraying lifestyles of Indonesian Who's Who, capturing Bali Bomb I aftermath, Jakarta flood aerials , tourings to Indonesia's remote regions, and dive down underwater to immortalize the image of mortally endangered Indonesian coral reefs.

Official jobs aside, Lasti have strong personal interest, concerns, and passions to humanitarian and environmental issues. On this particular subjects, beside taking singles routinely, Lasti also create and covers numerous photo stories, and write articles on particular subjects and issues.

Several achievements, among many, are :

• Olympus Underwater Photo Contest 2007, Deep Underwater category, 1st place award winner.
• International Photo Competition 2007, held by Binus International, 3rd runner up award winner.
• Naga Laut Seaworld Photo Contest 2006, Deep Underwater category, 1st place award winner and 2nd runner up for article on naga laut (sea dragon).
• Mina Bahari Pers Award 2005 (Award for ocean concern journalists), 3rd runner up for article writing.
